Musicals- “The Hills Are Alive…”

As a genre of Hollywood film-making, musicals go as far back as the 1920’s when Al Jolson made the Jazz Singer, and as recently as the 2016 Academy Award winning La La Land. While musicals enjoyed their “golden age” from the 1930s through the 1950s, they still enjoyed a great amount of success in the 60s when stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley, and Julie Andrews made widely popular films. It’s one of my favorite categories to collect for the colors, artwork and “mood” of the poster. Here a several from my collection.
